Mo Free Apps

Free iPhone apps. Made by one person.

Small apps that do one job and leave you alone. I'm Moses, a software engineer since 2009. I build these with an AI pair programmer and give them away.

Six on the App Store $0, every one No ads, no accounts, no tracking

Receipts and warranties

Kept

Keep the proof. Skip the argument.

Snap the receipt, note the serial, set the coverage. Kept warns you thirty days and seven days before a warranty ends, and keeps the photo where you can find it.

Visual timer

Blue Hour

Remaining time, as remaining light.

A timer you read like a sky. The light fades as the minutes go, so you feel how much is left without reading a number. Built for a brain that loses track.

Card-draw journal

Pip

A quiet journal for your daily draw.

Draw a card, write what it meant to you, and look back over the year. Every card in the deck, with its plate, lives in your pocket. No readings sold, nothing to unlock.

Headache tracker

HeadSense

A headache diary that works in the dark.

Log a migraine with three taps on a screen built for a room with the lights off. Fill in the rest later. Reports you can hand to a doctor.

Free on the App Store

One card a day

Town Stoic

The Stoics, one line a day.

One line from Seneca, Marcus, or Epictetus each morning, with its source. Flip it over, write a note if you want. That's the whole app.

Things to do near you

Drift

Real places, nothing made up.

Five things worth leaving the house for, sorted by how far you'd actually have to go. Parks, shows, markets, with an "on the way" mode for when you're already out.

Why they're free

I built the first one for myself and kept going. I don't want to run a subscription business, and I don't want to know anything about the people who use my apps. So I don't.

The apps cost nothing. There's a tip jar inside each one and it unlocks nothing. I know that's not a business. It wasn't meant to be one.

What should I build next?

Tell me the thing you wish an app did. Suggestions get posted publicly on X, so everyone can see what's being asked for and vote with a reply. I read every one.

This opens a post on X addressed to @mofreeapps with your words in it. You press post. Nothing is sent from this page. Suggestions are non-confidential and may get built, with or without credit. No X? Email votiquellc@gmail.com.

Ideas

Seven ideas on the board.

These are the current ideas, roughly in the order I'm leaning. Not all of them will get built, and the order moves when enough people ask. Reply on X to push one up or talk me out of one.

  1. GyminiTwo to ten minute workouts, offline, no account.
  2. HookPointA shore angler's companion: tides, water, weather for the spot you picked.
  3. OutsideA sky clock. Sunrise, blue hour, golden hour, on your device.
  4. LabelScan a barcode, see what's actually in the food.
  5. RecalledIs anything I own recalled? Check without an account.
  6. Field NotesA nature notebook for a parent and a kid.
  7. ShelfLearn about a book, keep a shelf and a want list.

Watch it get built

Every app gets built in the open: what shipped, what broke, and what I decided along the way. Short posts, real screenshots, no hype.
